Czerwone Wierchy Trail

One of the most popular routes in the Western Tatras, leading along the grassy ridge of the gentle Czerwone Wierchy. Crossing Czerwone Wierchy does not pose any difficulties and is not particularly demanding in terms of fitness, but remember that you still need to reach the Kondracka Pass, from where we start our trip. Czerwone The peaks owe their name to a plant growing on them called sit skucina, which turns brown in autumn. We have included a description of how to get to the Kondracka Pass from Kuźnice in the previous entry. Trail color: yellow - red. Walking time: 2 h 05 min (up) Highest point: Krzesanica 2122 m above sea level. We start the hike at the Kondracka Pass, from where, following the yellow trail, in about 1 hour we reach the lowest of the four peaks of the Czerwone Wierchy ridge, i.e. Kopa Kondracka (2005 m above sea level). From here we head west following the red signs. The stone, comfortable path leads up and down, passing successive peaks along the way - MałoŁączniak (2,096 m above sea level), the highest in the ridge, Krzesanica (2,122 m above sea level) and ending with Ciemniak (2,096 m above sea level). The entire route is extremely picturesque, from each peak there is a panorama to all sides of the world, showing the closer and further peaks of the Western Tatras and the High Tatras. It is possible to shorten the trip and descend into the valley from the top of MałoŁączniak along the blue trail to Przysłop Miętusi (descent time 2 h 25 min). However, it is worth remembering that the route leads through the steep Kobylarzowy Żleb, where in the most difficult place there are artificial insurances in the form of chains. The fastest descent route from Przysłop Miętusi to the outlet of the Mała Łąki Valley takes 40 minutes. If you want to cross the entire Czerwone Wierchy ridge, continue the descent from the top of Ciemniak. We have two routes to choose from: a shorter but easier one through Twardy Grzbiet (3 h 25 min along the red trail and then the green trail to Kir) and a longer, but more picturesque one through the Tomanowa Valley (4 h along the green trail to Kir).
